We're following the World travel & Tourism Council "Global Protocols for the New Normal - Hospitality" but we added some more:

Our control protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19



1. General health security measures

  • We have been confined with our staff since April the 1st and no one has been sick. Outings are limited to essential activities.
  • We wash our hands very regularly with soap
  • We wear masks to welcome you
  • Persons entering the villa are required to wear a mask and may access only restricted areas of the Villa (see visitor reception below)
  • Disinfectant hand gel usage is imposed on everyone entering the villa
  • Non-essential visitors (deliverers, couriers) are received outside the villa

2. Cleaning instructions for common areas and kitchen

Common areas

  • Wearing disposable gloves is compulsory for employees during maintenance.
  • Frequently touched surfaces such as switches, door handles, remote controls and faucet handles are cleaned several times a day using cleaning solutions with diluted bleach or at least 70% alcohol. We also use natural disinfectant containing vinegar and lavender essential oil.
  • Spaces are cleaned with soap and then disinfected using paper towels or disposable wipes.
  • We air common rooms all day long.
  • We wash our hands before and after each cleaning with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Kitchen

  • Wearing disposable gloves and a cap / scarf is compulsory for employees in the kitchen when handling foodstuffs.
  • Frequently touched surfaces such as tap handles, sinks and worktops, the floor, garbage cans are cleaned several times a day with soap and disinfected with lemon juice or white vinegar.
  • All our fruits and vegetables are washed in lemon or vinegar water before being stored in the refrigerator or before consumption.
  • All kitchen utensils are cleaned with soap and disinfected in white vinegar before use.
  • The cloths are used once then are washed and ironed before being reused

3. Room cleaning protocol

  • Wearing disposable gloves and a mask is compulsory for employees when cleaning rooms.
  • We air the rooms for at least 1 hour before and during cleaning. All windows remain open during the entire cleaning process.
  • Frequently touched surfaces and objects (door handles, switches, remote controls, tables, fan and lamp components, window sills and handles, keys, hair dryer, trash cans, hangers, night tables, sinks, etc.) are cleaned and disinfected using cleaning solutions with diluted bleach or at least 70% alcohol. We also use natural disinfectant containing vinegar and lavender essential oil.
  • We wash our hands before and after each cleaning with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Spaces are cleaned with soap and then disinfected using paper towels or disposable wipes
  • We use a new cleaning cloth for each traveler

4. Household linen cleaning instructions

  • Our linens (sheets, mattress covers, towels, blankets, tea towels) are machine washed at the highest temperature recommended by the manufacturer.
  • We wear gloves when handling dirty laundry.
  • We clean and disinfect the laundry baskets after each occupancy of the room.
  • Our sofas, rugs, curtains and other soft, porous surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected on departure of each guest.

5. Supply

  • Shopping is carried out twice a week by a designated person.
  • The one of us who goes shopping carries his mask and washes with soap on his return after having stored the purchases in a dedicated place.
  • Non-perishable races are stored 4 hours separately before being handled and stored

6. Welcoming visitors

  • We wear masks to welcome visitors
  • Visitors are required to wear a mask and cannot access beyond the terrace in front of the Villa.
  • Disinfectant hand gel is imposed on everyone who enters the villa
  • Non-essential visitors (deliverymen, couriers) are received outside the villa (see below ‘Reception of couriers, deliverymen etc’)
  • In the case of visits planned by the guests, for example for a work meeting, which require the use of a private space, a lounge is made available for the sole benefit of guests and their visitors. At the end of the meeting, the living room is disinfected.
  • The guests can invite their visitors for meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). In this case, the instructions followed for the organization of the meals apply (See ‘Meals’ below)

7. Reception of couriers, deliverers etc

  • The deliverers, couriers etc are received outside the villa
  • Non-perishable packages are stored 4 hours separately before being handled and stored
  • We wash our hands with soap after handling any object from outside

8. Meals

The usual hygiene instructions also apply:

  • The ingredients of the meals are kept for 4 hours after their arrival, before being used or served
  • Meals are served in an open space either at an individual table or in common with respect for the distance of at least 1 meter between each guest, depending on guests preferences.

9. Choice of cleaning products
We use:

  • Marseille soap
  • Diluted bleach
  • Natural disinfectant based on vinegar, lavender essential oil and citrus peel
